Things to Do in Philadelphia During the Winter

Winter in Philadelphia is a magical time, transforming the city into a wonderland of festive charm.

At The Pepper Building, we’re excited to guide you through the best activities that capture the essence of this season.

From enchanting holiday markets to delightful ice-skating experiences, here’s your ultimate guide to Things to Do in Philadelphia During the Winter.

Embrace the Winter Spirit at Dilworth Park

Dilworth Park emerges as the heart of winter festivities in Philadelphia.
From early November to late February, this vibrant park becomes a hub of winter activity.

Immerse yourself in the wintery atmosphere as you explore the charming market stalls offering unique gifts and seasonal treats during the holiday season.

Gaze in wonder at the twinkling lights, unique decorations, and wide variety of plant life that surround you at The Wintergarden on the Greenfield Lawn.

When you get a little chilly, unwind and warm up at the Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin. Designed to look exactly like a charming, traditional ski chalet, this attraction is the perfect place to grab a cup of hot chocolate (or a signature cocktail if you’re of age) and gather round the fire pits for conversation, photos, and lasting memories with friends and family.

Glide Across the Ice at Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink

For a quintessential winter experience, head to the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink.

Also located in Dilworth Park, this ice-skating rink provides a picturesque setting surrounded by iconic Philadelphia landmarks.

Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned skater, this rink offers a joyful experience for all.

While there are admission and skate rental fees, children, Temple University staff and students, and SEPTA and PATCO Pass Holders can enjoy discounted prices. Plus, admission is free for everyone on every Monday and Tuesday in February!

Since this is one of the city’s most popular attractions for locals and tourists, we recommend making reservations so you don’t miss out on any of the fun.

Explore the Christmas Village

The Christmas Village in Philadelphia is a must-visit destination during the winter season.

Wander through the charming German-style holiday market adorned with wooden booths, draped in festive lights, showcasing an array of handcrafted gifts and unique decorations.

Indulge in seasonal treats, enjoy the array of family-friendly activities and special events, and take a ride on the double-decker carousel, ferris wheel or other attractions!

No matter what you choose to do at the Christmas Village, you’ll embrace the spirit of the winter season!

Philadelphia is a Winter Wonderland

When you live at The Pepper Building, you can enjoy the winter magic that imbues Philadelphia by exploring these captivating activities.
